Content Monetize Protocol

In Web3 Social, content can be monetized typically via Advertising, NFT Sales, Membership, and Tipping.

With smart contracts, contributors can be tagged and credited. Profit-sharing can be set up between creator, sub-creators, owner, application, and infrastructure.

Advertising

Displaying Advertisements

Each dApp has a unique User Interface and advertisements will be displayed dependent on the frontend designs. Advertisements may be displayed in the public feeds or on a user's personal page but most of them would be attached to content.

Content providers will be rewarded directly by advertisers based on the model chosen:

  • Pay per Impressions (PPM)

An advertiser is charged a flat rate for a thousand impressions and such rate will be equally distributed between responsible content providers.

  • Pay per Click (PPC)

A content provider is paid each time a visitor clicks the ad being displayed on his content.

  • Pay per Lead (PPL)

The content providers is paid when someone views an ad on his content, clicks that ad, and then takes further action to become a qualified lead for a sale. This might mean signing up for an e-newsletter, reward programs, or free website membership.

  • Pay per Acquisition (PPA)

Similar to PPL but a content provider will be paid when the sale is completed via his content. It is similar to affiliate marketing. A referral code may be provided to the content providers to directly market to audiences.

NFT Sales

Content including photos, videos, audio, and text can be minted as NFT for sale. Such profit will be directly rewarded to the content providers.

Membership

Content can be set encrypted and displayed exclusively to groups. Content providers can make a profit by charging the audiences membership fee.

Tipping

Audiences can show appreciation for content by offering a tip.

Profit-sharing

Good content is usually a result of good teamwork.

For example,

  • a great photo is credited to a charming model, a professional photographer, and a photo editing expert.

  • a report is credited to a writer and a researcher.

  • a song is credited to a lyricist, a composer, and a singer.

Multi-contributors can be tagged as sub-creators and share the revenue generated from the content.

The profit-sharing ratio can be set up by a creator and a dApp. Distributed between creator, sub-creators, owner, dApp, and Infrastructure.
